Solar heater-the basics
Solar heating systems are mainly of two types. They can be direct or indirect. The direct solar heaters arrest the sun’s rays in collector pipes. These pipes have water flowing in them. The heat from the sun gets transferred to the pipes which in turn transfer the heat to the water.
The indirect type uses a low freezing point fluid to soak up the sun’s energy. This fluid on absorbing the sun’s heat transfers it to water in a tank. No direct contact occurs between water and the fluid.
Solar lighting is another application of solar energy and offers excellent lighting solutions for homes and offices.
